Dr. Stephen A. Brown has been in private practice as a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon for over 30 years.  Along with his many accomplishments, Dr. Brown developed and supervised an age management clinic within the structure of his surgical practice.  He used his current knowledge and ongoing research to institute nutrition, skin care, fitness and spirituality education for over 20 years.

Dr. Brown provides health education to the public through seminars and discussion groups, many of which are held at Rituals Spa. He also continuess to teach at the University of Connecticut Health Center as Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery.

Medical Experience
While acting as the Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery, Dr. Brown had his own private practice in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Hartford as well as New Britain.  He was Chief of Plastic Surgery at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford as well as Chief of Plastic Surgery at New Britain General Hospital in New Britain.

Prior to his more recent achievements, Dr. Brown served as Major in the US ARMY Medical Corps, serving as General and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Third Field Hospital in Saigon, Vietnam.  His work with the 'Birth Defects Unit' for Vietnamese children during his service in the Vietnam War resulted in him being awarded the Bronze Star.

Business and Administrative Experience
Alongside Dr. Brown’s many medical accomplishments and experiences, he continues to work with various charities and even acts as President and CEO of “One Lap for Kids”, a national, non- profit children's cancer charity. 

Dr. Brown served as President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer of the New England Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.  He was Founder and Charter President of the Connecticut Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.  Dr. Brown was also the Chairperson of the National Council of Regional Societies for the American Society of Plastic Surgery.

Graduated from Boston University A.B. cum laude with distinction in Biology, and New York University M.D..

Residencies
Dr. Brown completed his Surgery Residency at Bellevue Hospital in New York City and Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston.  He completed his Plastic Surgery Residency at the University of Pittsburgh, Chief Resident.

Civic Activities and Awards
Dr. Brown takes pride in giving back.  He is very proud of the fact that he donated Connecticut’s Vietnam Veterans Memorial in 1989.  He is also a Member of the Board of Eve’s fund, a non-profit charity supporting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Over the years Dr. Brown has had many experiences and achievements in his field and his success is reflected in the following awards he has won: AMA National Physicians' Recognition Award, bestowed every 3 years to present; Certificate of Advanced Education in Cosmetic Surgery; Special AMA Award of Service (1 of 16 recipients) for development of "One Lap for Kids", a non-profit children's cancer charity. Dr. Javier Davila is a Yale trained plastic surgeon with a colorful background that allows him to bring a world view of aesthetic surgery into his practice. In addition to skilled hands and refined technique, his patients benefit from his keen eye for cosmetic balance. Born in a small town in Central America and the recipient of a superb liberal arts education (summa cum laude, Fordham University), he remains perfectly bilingual. He arrived in New Haven in 1992 to pursue his medical education followed by surgical training.
